Disability Support Worker

Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.

The Role:
We are currently looking for multiple Disability Support Workers to work with a female client based in Benowa, QLD. Our participant is a 76-year-old female and has sustained Traumatic Brain Injury post a motor-vehicle accident. She requires moderate to high intensity care. Applicants with prior experience of working with Traumatic Brain Injury will be highly regarded. This is a casual ongoing position with no end date in sight. Our participant requires 24/7 support and is 2:1 support.

The shift times are as follows:

• 06:00am to 09:00am
• 06:00am to 02:00pm

• 02:00pm to 10:00pm
• 07:00pm to 10:00pm

• Active overnight: 10:00pm to 06:00am.

Pay Rates:

• Day Shift: $39.25 per hour
• Afternoon Shift: $43.18 per hour
• Night shift: $43.96 per hour
• Saturday: $54.95 per hour
• Sunday: $70.65 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Assistance with personal care
• Hoisting & Transfers (full hoist/sling hoist)
• Medication Prompting
• Attend to thorough skin checks
• Supervision/assistance during meal time
• Assistance with domestic tasks including meal preparation
• Assistance with Health & Rehab exercises
• Community access + rehab appointments
• Capacity Building and Companionship

Skills & Experiences:

• Minimum 6 months of experience with high intensity participant.
• Excellent Communication
• Assistance in Medication Certificate.
• Australian Driver Licence + own vehicle
• Current National Police Clearance
• Current NDIS Screening Card or Yellow Card
• Current Blue Card
• NDIS modules.
• First Aid & CPR Certificate
• Reliable, proactive, and positive attitude
