Disability Support Worker

Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.

The Role:
We are currently looking for Disability Support Workers to work with a client in Sippy Downs, Qld. Our participant is 67-year-old female who has sustained a spinal cord injury, resulting in a diagnosis called tetraplegia and so our client requires medium to high intensity care. Applicants with prior experience of working with similar clients will be highly regarded. This is a casual ongoing position with no end date in sight.

We can offer both part-time and full-time hours to the right applicants.

Shift hours: Monday to Sunday

Day shift: 7am to 3pm and 7am - 9am.
Afternoon shift: 3pm - 10pm.
Inactive Sleepover: 10pm/11pm - 7am.

Pay Rates:

· Day shift $38.75 per hour

· Afternoon shift $42.63

· Saturday shift $54.25 per hour

· Sunday shift $69.75 per hour

· $0.99 travel allowance (applies only when travelling with participant to and from appointments).

Key Responsibilities:

Assistance with personal care
Assistance with catheter management (including applying leg bag)
Assistance with Bowel therapy (administering enema and digital stimulation)
Hoisting & Transfers (full hoist/sling hoist)
Administering medication + completing skin checks.
Supervision/assistance during meal time
Assistance with domestic tasks including cleaning, laundry & meal preparation
Assistance with Health & Rehab exercises

Skills & Experiences:

Australian Driver Licence + own vehicle
Assistance with medication certificate
Certificate III in disability/ individual support.
Current National Police Clearance
Current NDIS Screening Card or Yellow Card
Current Blue Card
First Aid & CPR Certificate
Reliable, proactive and positive attitude
