Disability Support Worker

About the Company:

Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.

The Role:
We are currently looking for a Disability Support Worker for ongoing work, to partner with female participant in her 20's who has a young child and is based in South Mackay, QLD. Our participant has sustained a spinal cord injury which has resulted in limited mobility.

Due the complexity of the participant, reliability and flexibility is extremely important and only candidates with high-level care experience will be considered (Bowel care, catheter care, hoisting etc).

There are multiple shifts available;
Monday to Sunday: 10:00am-2:30pm
Monday to Sunday: 5:00pm-9:00pm

Pay Rates:

Day - $43.75 per hour
Evening - $48.13 per hour
Saturday - $54.25 per hour
Sunday - $69.75 per hour
$0.96 travel allowance (applies only when travelling with participant to and from medical/rehab appointments)

Key Responsibilities:

Assistance with personal care
Bowel therapy (administering enema and digital stimulation)
Hoisting/transfers
Supervision and assistance to participant when caring for her young child (bathing, drying, changing etc)
Completing skin checks
Administering Medication
Assistance with domestic tasks including cleaning & meal preparation
Assistance with Health & Rehab exercises
Community access + rehab appointments

Skills & Experiences:

Australian Driver Licence
Current National Police Clearance
Current Blue Card
Current Yellow Card
First Aid & CPR Certificate
NDIS Worker Orientation Module
Reliable, proactive, and positive attitude
Must be available for immediate start
