Disability Support Worker

About the Company:

Unidex Healthcare are a privately owned recruitment company established in 2001 and operate across Australia, with our main offices in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland. Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.

The Role:
We are currently looking for Disability Support Workers to work with our 3-year old client based in Mackay, QLD. Our participant has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Our participant does sometimes struggle with his attention span, verbal communication, emotional regulation, and behaviours of concern. Our client is therefore requiring support in implementing strategies towards managing these areas.
This is a casual ongoing position with no end date in sight.

Pay Rates:

Day shift $43.75 per hour

Evening shift $48.13 per hour

Inactive Sleepover allowance $158

$0.99 travel allowance (applies only when travelling with participant to and from medical/rehab appointments).

Shift times:

Thursdays: 4pm-7pm & 8pm-6am* (inactive sleepover)

Fridays: 6am-10am

Key Responsibilities:

• Personal care duties
• Supervision
• Following Positive Behavioural Support Plan
• Community Access/Transport activities
• Domestic Assistance
• Companionship and capacity building

Skills & Experiences:

• Experience with ADHD/ASD (or similar) required
• Experience working with Children with intellectual disabilities highly regarded!
• Australian Driver Licence
• Current National Police Clearance
• Current NDIS Screening Card or Yellow Card
• Current Blue Card
• First Aid & CPR Certificate
• Reliable, proactive and positive attitude
