Disability Support Worker

Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.

The Role:
We are currently looking for experienced Disability Support Workers to partner with a 68-year-old male participant with a spinal cord injury based in Toowoomba, QLD.

This role is on a casual on-going basis and looking to start as soon as possible.

Our participant requires 2:1 support from Monday to Sunday on the below times:

• Day shift: 6am - 8am
• Afternoon shift: 6pm - 8pm

Due the complexity of the participant, successful candidates must have experience with bowel therapy OR be willing to learn these skills (administering enema and digital stimulation). Training will be provided.

Pay Rates:

• Day - $40.00 per hour
• Saturday - $56.00 per hour
• Sunday - $72.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Assistance with bowel therapy (administering enema and digital stimulation)
• Assistance with domestic tasks including cleaning & meal preparation
• Assistance with Health & Rehab exercises
• Hoisting (full hoist/sling hoist)
• Assistance with personal care
• Completing skin checks

Skills & Experiences:

• Reliable, proactive and positive attitude
• NDIS Effective Communication Module
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Current National Police Clearance
• First Aid & CPR Certificate
• Australian Driver Licence
• Current WWCC
• Manual Handling Certificate
