Disability Support Worker

About the Company:

Unidex Healthcare are a privately owned recruitment company established in 2001 and operate across Australia, with our main offices in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland. Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.

The Role:
We are currently looking for Disability Support Workers to partner with our female participant based in Toongabbie, NSW, who sustained a Spinal Cord Injury (SCI).

The current care plan in place requires morning supports 7 days a week. The current hours requiring filling include:

• Day shift: 7am - 9am

These days may extend depending on appointments, so flexibility is a must.

Due the complexity of the participant, successful candidates must have experience with Spinal Cord Injuries, and have experience with Catheter Care and Complex Bowel Care (Peristeen) or willing to learn

Pay Rates:

• Day - $38.75 per hour
• Saturday - $54.25 per hour
• Sunday - $69.75 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Assistance with personal care - e.g., showering, oral hygiene, hair care
• Complex bowel care (Peristeen) - training will be provided
• Catheter care
• Manual handling
• Assistance with domestic tasks - e.g., cleaning, laundry
• Driving to community access + attending appointments

Skills & Experiences:

• Reliable, proactive and positive attitude
• NDIS Effective Communication Module
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• Current NDIS Screening check
• Current National Police Clearance
• First Aid & CPR Certificate
• Australian Driver Licence and Reliable Vehicle Is A Must
• Current WWCC
• Advanced Bowel Management Training Certificate (must be willing to obtained one)
