Disability Support Worker

Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the health care field specializing in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.

Our female participant has a spinal cord injury and is looking for someone who can provide personalized, respectful, and consistent support to help maintain independence and quality of life. We are seeking a Support Worker who is skilled with conducting bowel therapy and good with manual handling. Our client also requires assistance with parental duties with her young child.

We are looking for someone with good availability with the below roster:

• Monday - 10am - 2pm and 2pm - 6.30pm
• Tuesday - 6.30am - 10am and 2pm - 6pm
• Wednesday - 6.30am - 12.30pm and 2pm - 6pm
• Thursday - 6.30am - 9.30am and 2pm - 6pm
• Friday - 6.30am - 9.30am and 6pm - 8pm
• Saturday - 10am - 1pm and 6pm - 8pm
• Sunday - 10am - 1pm and 6pm - 8pm

With the main shifts available currently:

• Wednesday - 2pm - 6pm
• Friday - 6.30am - 9.30am and 6pm - 8pm
• Fortnightly Saturday - 6pm - 8pm
• Sunday - 10am - 1pm and 6pm - 8pm

Duties of the role:

• Assisting with personal care
• Conducting bowel therapy (administering enema and digital stimulation)
• Assisting with domestic tasks
• Manual handling such as hoisting and transfers
• Administering medication
• Assisting with parental support

Skills & Experience:

• Australian Driver's License
• Certificate III in Individual Support
• Current National Police Clearance within 12 months
• Current Blue & Yellow Card
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• NDIS Support Effective Communication Module
• Reliable, proactive, and positive attitude
