Disability Support Worker

About the Company:
Unidex Health care are a privately owned recruitment company established in 2001 and operate across Australia, with our main offices in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland. Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the health care field specializing in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.

Our participant has a spinal cord injury and requires consistent, person-centred support. This role is ideal for someone who is not only highly skilled in complex care but also values building a respectful and supportive working relationship.

Key Responsibilities and Experience:

• Complex bowel care, including digital stimulation and administration of enemas
• Medication assistance, including safe and accurate administration
• Demonstrated experience in wound care
• Experience with insulin administration (highly regarded), or willingness to undertake training
• Assistance with personal care
• Assistance with domestic tasks and meal preparation
• Manual handling such as hoisting and transfers

Shift times:

Monday - Sunday Shifts - morning and afternoon with a variation of shifts including:

• 5am - 7am
• 9am - 1pm
• 4pm - 8pm

Skills & Experience

• MUST HAVE COMPLEX BOWEL CARE EXPERIENCE
• Australian Driver's License
• Certificate 3 in Individual Support minimum requirement
• Current National Police Clearance within 12 months
• Current Blue Card and Yellow Card
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module and NDIS Supporting Effective Communication module

MUST HOLD A HLTHPS006 - assist clients with medication certificate or willing to obtain prior to commencing
