What is iCare and Does it Operate in QLD?

iCare (Insurance and Care NSW) is a New South Wales government organisation that provides care and compensation for people injured at work, in road accidents, or through other covered events.

While iCare offers essential long-term support, it is only available in NSW and does not operate in Queensland. If you’re relocating or exploring care options outside of NSW, it’s important to understand your support pathways.

Who Does iCare Support?

iCare provides funding and services to people with:

  • Workplace injuries (via Workers Compensation)
  • Severe road trauma (under the Lifetime Care scheme)
  • Other approved injuries, such as dust diseases

This can include medical treatment, personal care, rehabilitation, and home support tailored to each person’s needs.
