Disability Support Worker

About the Company:

Unidex Healthcare are a privately owned recruitment company established in 2001 and operate across Australia, with our main offices in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland. Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.

The Role:

We are currently looking for an experienced Disability Support Workers to support our female participant based in Stanhope Gardens, NSW. Our participant is 72-year-old lady who sustained T3 ASIA A spinal cord injury due to an accident. She currently lives with her husband and 2 adult sons.

Our participant requires support from Monday to Sunday (please note: flexibility with shifts is required as shift times may be altered slightly depending on participant's needs/morning appointment).

Shifts Times are as follows:

Morning shift: 0800-1030

Afternoon Shift: 2030-2230

Pay Rates:

Day - $38.75 per hour
Afternoon - $42.625 per hour
Saturday - $54.25 per hour
Sunday - $69.75 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting with personal care, showering, dressing, drying etc.,
Perform skin integrity checks
Assisting with wound dressing
Perform Bowel Care, administering enema and digital stimulation
Assistance with domestic chores: ironing assistance, light garden cleaning, mowing, vacuuming, mopping etc.,
Using of Full/Sling Hoist, Transfers, Pull-Up side rails etc.,

Skills & Experiences:

Previous experience with bowel care specifically enema and digital stimulation
Previous experience with cleaning, emptying and changing catheter bag
Reliable, proactive and positive attitude
NDIS Effective Communication Module
NDIS Worker Orientation Module
NDIS Screening check
Current National Police Clearance
First Aid & CPR Certificate
Australian Driver Licence and own vehicle.
Current WWCC
